circumcision is the removal of the fore skin of the penis.It was traditionally used by some traditions as part of their way of life.In Zambia traditions that practice circumcision include the Luvale,Chokwe Mbunda Lunda mainly of North Western province.Now it has been recommended as part of health protection.Circumcision means a lot to these traditionally motivated people such that an uncircumcised person is called names to fool them around.In Luvale a person who is not circumcised is called a chilima.The question is what does circumcision mean in Luvale?

Luvale is a God given tribe that is found oficially in three countries that is Zambia,Congo DR and Angola.It is also found in little populations in some other countries like Zimbabwe and Botswana.The Luvale are among the few group of people that have maintained their tradition one of which is the act of circumcision.
